HEAT stands for Hostile Environment Awareness Training. This course has been developed for individuals, who are working or planning to work in hostile or potentially hostile environments.
Our Travel Safety and H.E.A.T. Instructors have a background in the Royal Marines Commando division or the British Army. Our Instructors have been specifically selected for their skills and expertise within their distinct field of excellence, together with their many years of experience in living and operating within a hostile environment.
We insist that each Instructor possesses, as a minimum, a fully-accredited award in education and training, First Aid at Work Level 3 Award, and Conflict Management Level 2. Each Instructor benefits from the full public liability insurance that Staff Defence provides.
You are encouraged to contact us now, so we can advise you regarding the most suitable course to meet your requirements.
The Travel Safety HEAT course is held at our bespoke training venue at:
Pippingford Park Manor, Nutley, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 3HW. Here we can comfortably seat up to 30 Delegates per course.
Although we can normally be flexible regarding the selection of a venue, we have to insist on our training venue at Pippingford Park for all HEAT courses, due to the course content and requirements. The HEAT course contains a large component of immersive role-play, which requires a specific type of setting that we provide at our training venue in order that our Delegates can fully gain from the experiential aspects of this course.
Additionally, we do have a training location in the USA.
*Please Note: All of our courses are conducted in alignment with COVID-19 regulations to ensure the safety and welfare of all our Instructors and Delegates.
Yes. It is always our desire to deliver every course in a way that meets all of your requirements. This is done through a process of prior discussion with you to decide exactly which components are embedded into the course. We accept and appreciate that we are all unique individuals, so that means for group work especially, we aim to address everybody’s needs. Then, for your complete assurance, we await written confirmation, stating that you are completely satisfied with the content of the course prior to its delivery.
No, except you must be aged over 16 years.
As with all of our courses, the Travel Safety HEAT course is competitively priced at £1195.00 + VAT per person.
Staff Defence includes lunch and all refreshments throughout the training period.
Immersive training is the use of role-play scenarios in which each Delegate will need to solve hypothetical problems and make decisions within a “mocked-up” harsh situation. This type of experience helps Delegates to find their inner strength during these real-life scenarios and is very empowering.
The duration of the Travel Safety HEAT course is 3 days.
HEAT is a non-residential course, but Staff Defence has agreed a competitive rate for Delegates with an hotel that is 1.7 miles from the training venue. On reserving a place on our HEAT course, Staff Defence is happy to provide you with the hotel’s contact details.
